Valorie Kajack was named 2019 Kiwanian of the Year for the Kiwanis Club of East Spokane. Among other things, Val spearheaded the re-organization of Paint-a-Helmet, an Inland NW Division project.

Mallory Thomas receives her Presidential Pin from her husband, Chuck Thomas. Mallory is the East Spokane Kiwanis Club President for 2018-2019. Mallory was also awarded the Kiwanian of the Year Award for her service during the past year. Congratulations Mallory!
East Spokane Kiwanis Club Immediate Past President Teresa Venne (center), was honored with the George F. Hixson Fellowship Award by the East Spokane Kiwanis Club on October 4, 2018. Presenting the award is Mallory Thomas incoming Club President (left), and Jackie Sue McFarlin (right), past Governor of the Pacific Northwest District. During the past several years Teresa has served two terms as the Club President and a year as the Eastern Washington Lt. Governor. In 1983, the Kiwanis Children's Fund established the George F. Hixson Fellowship. Named for Kiwanis International’s first president, Hixson Fellowships are awarded to donors who give $1,000 or more to the Children's Fund. The Club proudly made the donation to honor Teresa's hard work and outstanding dedication to Kiwanis and the Children of the World. Congratulations Teresa, the honor is well deserved!

One of our 2018 Grant recipients was SCOPE North Spokane. They showed their thanks by presenting East Spokane Kiwanis Club with a certificate of appreciation.
Recent speaker, Mike Kobluk, (center) with Teresa Venne, President, and Spike Cunningham. Mike provided a personal accounting of the history of Expo '74 from 1963 through 1974. Mike, a member of the Chad Mitchell Trio, was the Music and Entertainment Director of Expo '74 and following that he was the Director of the Spokane Opera House and Convention Center.

September 2017: Club Treasurer, Dia Maurer, (L) is all smiles as PNW District Governor, Roger Bell, presents a $5,000 check to ESK President, Teresa Venne, that our club passed along to Edie Rice-Sauer, (R) Executive Director of Transitions. Dia applied for the funds from the PNW Foundation to provide new playground equipment at Transitions' new transitional housing expansion. Well done, Dia!
