Doughnut and a Book
01/31/24 East Spokane Kiwanis members recently shared the gift of reading with preschoolers and their parents at W Whitman Elementary School. The “doughnut and book” event was attended by East Spokane Kiwanians, Mallory, Teresa, Lee and former Whitman principal, Bev Lund.The children and parents were thrilled with their books!

East Spokane Club members Val Kjack (left) and Mallory Thomas (right) were recently honored with the "Rusty" Award for their extraordinary Kiwanis efforts. The Award is named after Dr. Joan "Rusty" Clutts, an educator who established a scholarship fund through the Kiwanis Pacific Northwest Foundation. To honor Mallory and Val $2,000 was donated to the scholarship fund. Congratulation! (10/21)
New Book Bank Location
Hundreds of volunteer hours have gone into moving the Spokane area Kiwanis Book Bank to the new location at the Libby Center Building located at 2901 E 1st Ave, one block south of The Hive on Sprague Ave. The Book Bank is a Division-Wide project of the Greater Spokane Area Kiwanis Division. The move was coordinated by East Spokane Club members Mallory Thomas and Val Kjack. Volunteers from a number of Spokane area clubs joined in to move shelves and books over a two-month period. Job well done! (10/24)
